Jess who lent me his MP3 500 (Fuoco), had installed the highway peg brackets I'd arranged to be sent to him but not the pegs themselves, so Patrick and I fitted them. I raised the windscreen to my preferred height, and adjusted the mirrors for maximum vision. Then attached the GPS - the power line had to be gaffer-taped to the side, but hey, it works. I bet it'll need Goo-Gone at the end of the trip though.
Patrick and I walked down to their little village, and had crepes for lunch - lovely. After that lots of techie talk about engine mods, then I set off for my cousin Pauline's - a whole 2 miles away! And a lovely house it is, with just the right amount of interesting clutter. Lots of family chat, and a pizza arrived soon after. Beer was attacked, and I'd been up to the shops to get some whisky in - J&B seemed the best available, not too shabby. Then I got around to making plans for my next two days before setting off for Kristin's - not much SF exploring as there'd be too many tourists, but I intended to get out on the open road anyway.
Kristin was now in Portland being plied with booze by her girlfriends at a beer festival, and computer-free, so no emails in the meantime.
Pics of the bike I'd be riding, complete with DSSC sticker!:
